Description
You are bidding on a fantastic, rare antique trade catalog from Chicago Pump Co. It is their "Chicago Pump Guide." It shows their address as 2336 Wolfram Street, Chicago, Illinois. The phone number is Armitage 1286.There is no date on the catalog but I estimate it is from the very early 1900's.
Catalog has 48 pages with great illustration and charts.
Chicago Pump Company started in 1909 along the banks of the Chicago River on the north side of the city. The initial production consisted of water pumps and building trade equipment. By 1928, the products "from Chicago" included a broad line of pumps and process equipment for the municipal water and wastewater business. "Chicago" later added other sewage process equipment including the Original Chicago Pump Comminutor.
In 1954, Chicago was acquired by FMC Corporation and the "Chicago" product line was expanded to include waste treatment equipment and other complimentary equipment from FMC's other lines. There are many treatment plants installed today that were "Chicago Pump Catalog" plants . . . nearly everything in the plant was chosen from the CP catalog. In the late 70's, Chicago Pump moved from its old plant at Diversey Ave & The Chicago River to a new plant in Itasca, IL.
I conducted a search and could not find another brochure like this for sale anywhere.
Catalog has a sticker on front with the number 160 on it. It is in very good condition.
Wonderful addition to a collection!
Great gift idea!
