Very good condition. This is a lawyers proof copy so there is checkmarks and notes to add or delete from final will.
DESCRIPTION:
F. L. Maytag Last Will & Testament, Lawyers Proof Copy measures 8 1/2'' wide by 13'' tall and has 8 pages including the 2 page Codicil. It is a true testament to how generous he was to employee's and friends. There is some notations for family but he actually gave family much before his death, as he stated in death, he could not see their smiles. F. L. Maytag was one of the greatest early 19th Century Industrialists known mostly for The Maytag Washing Machine made in Newton, Iowa. He was much more than that tho' including a Senator in The Iowa Legislature, owner of a Motor Car Company, Farm Equipment Company, Mausoleum Company, a Railroad in South Dakota, an Ad Specialties Company, a Car Dealership, a Gas Station, Bank President, Mayor of Newton, Iowa, several farms in Iowa and a Farm in Wisconsin.
I will be listing 100's of vintage F. L. Maytag Legal Papers, Letterheads and Other Maytag Memorabilia
. At the time of F. L. Maytag's death, he did not want many of his legal papers turned over to family members or even The Museum he built, these documents sat in a barn for over 70 years before being found.
