These are cotton prayer flags with 25 sheets of flags in English Version. The mantras are translated and printed in English.
It is totally handmade using cotton fabric and wooden block prints. For extra durability and strength, we have now added nylon strings to the flags so that it has a bit of elasticity and much strength to let the prayer flags sway freely.
As the name suggests, prayer flag means flag with prayers. Prayer flags are of two types:- Vertical ones and Horizontal one. Vertical ones are known as Darchor meaning Flagstaff and Horizontal ones are known as Lung Ta meaning Wind Horse. Vertical ones (Darchor) are rectangular cloth attached to the poles along their vertical lines whereas Horizontal ones (Lung Ta) are rectangular or square cloth/paper connected along their top edges to a long thread. They are hung in a diagonal line between two objects.
The mantras, symbols and prayers in a traditional prayer flag surrounds the traditional belief of a horse which is fast as wind, carrying the three flaming jewels symbolizing Buddha, The Dharma and the Sangha which are three cornerstones of Tibetan tradition.
The prayers written on the flag are carried by the wind, and your own mind to all as a blessing. By viewing the flags you are reminded to pray for the welfare of people, and to be mindful of the motivation to be kind, compassionate, and stay joyful throughout the day.

When the prayer flags and mantras have faded away, put up a new prayer flag. If you no longer want the old one to keep hanging alongside the new one, kindly burn or bury them respectfully.
