    Bistro saucers served a dual purpose in the absinthe era of the 1920-40’s in France. Aside from serving as a coaster, they were used to also indicate the price of absinthe being served, which was written on the bottom of the saucer. In this piece, the glass of absinthe would have cost 3 francs and 50 centimes. Available in green and white color combination, with the typical raised radial lines in the porcelain. Measures approximately 5 inches across. Vintage undetermined. Excellent condition. No dings or damage.
