    Description

General Idea formed in 1967 and over the next four decades made a significant contribution in defining postmodern art.
Two of the members, Felix Partz and Jorge Zontal died of AIDS in 1994.
General Idea's surviving member, AA Bronson, continues to practice as an independent artist and oversees the representation and exhibition of General Idea’s work internationally.
Their body of work combines provocative or banal imagery with wit and irony, creating subversive cultural critiques on a wide range of topics from the role of the artist in society to the AIDS crisis.
This original poster is from the General Idea retrospective at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, a comprehensive display of over 300 of General Idea’s works over the years.
