    Description

Rare early original vintage German press photograph shows Japanese troops breaching a river in Hupeh Province China.
Caption on back is from a German news agency. It translates in English to “Picture from the Eastern theater of war May 1939. Japanese soldiers breaching a river in Hupeh province to more quickly storm Chinese positions in Watai Mountains”.
Photograph measures 5 x 7 inches and is in very good condition with a few  bends.  There are no tears or creases and the image is very sharp and has strong tones with good contrast and clarity.  Back has writing mentioned above.
