Now hugely collectable JOMAZ costume jewelry goes back to 1927, when Joseph and Louis Mazer founded Mazer Brothers in New York City, but in 1946 Joseph Mazer split from his brother & launched JOMAZ. Despite the name change, JOMAZ continued in the manner of Mazer Brothers, setting rhinestones, artificial pearls, and faux turquoise in settings of goldtone & silvertone rhodium plated metal
A pair of the rarest vintage Jomaz costume earrings you will find, to back of the clip is stamped PAT 156462 (though can barely make out the last few d¡gits so they could be wrong)
Stunning earrings dated to the late 1940s to early 1950s, for JOMAZ was to stop hand setting its diamonte crystals by the early 1950s. The quality of this set is on a par with the best that Christian Dior was producing at the time, the earrings measures 3cm ( 1.2" )
Clearly made in their entirety by hand, they are completely encrusted or Pave set, with tiny bright white diamontes, & all edging having a milgrain finish. They are perfectly matched in color & condition, there is not one diamonte missing, damaged or hugely discolored, a few are slightly creamier in color when looked at under a loup but it is not noticeable to the naked eye, & would hazard a guess that they are Swarovzki gems, such is the clarity & glitter.
They have no damage whatsoever to the faces other than light, near invisible typical time related pitting to the plate, which vanishes if you clean them with silver polish & with no repairs, these are fit for the serious Deco Retro jewellery collector.  DO not clean this set with any liquid polish you will ruin it
The clip backs are as tight as they day they were made &
these spectacular earrings do what they were intended to do, to replicate diamonds & looks simply astonishing under artificial light
