Fine costume jewelry, the history of this designer is rich.  The first Stern jewelry store opened in New York City in 1868.
This piece is part of the Louis Stern series of dog pins.
This one, a beautiful Yorkshire Terrier, is difficult to find.
Sterling silver plate, enameled, jewel eyes.
Wonderfully detailed, wearing a jeweled collar.
You can see the texture of the fur.
The pin isn't flat, it is fully dimensional.
It can even stand on it's own.  When you aren't wearing it, display it!
Found in an estate where Louis Stern pieces were collected.
It was carefully wrapped in tissue and stored.
To the best of our knowledge, it has never been worn.
