    M-1752 was the first Bell Labs grown junction transistor
    This is an example with rare ribbon leads...
    I suspect this was  done to increase power dissipation.... has wide ohmic bonded  wide ribbon lead bonded  to  each end of  the  grown junction bar that  could  act to pull heat away from the bar

    Look at the envelope!  It was sealed since the 50s
    .... I opened it.  Sealed since the 50s at Bell Labs!
