    Description

    This was my late husband's pen and I believe he got it for a graduation present in 1971.
    Rare RUSS Montecristo Rollerpoint Pen Item No. 16097 from Russ Berrie and Company, Inc.
    Russ Berrie and Company Inc. started in 1963.  In 1971 they moved to a new corporate headquarters facility in Oakland, New Jersey. By the mid 1970's the company had ran into expansion issues and were on the verge of bankruptcy.  They discontinued many gift lines and "The Office Gifts" was part. They concentrated on what was to become the one of largest and most collectible doll manufacture in the world selling "RUSS" teddy bears, Trolls, and figurines.
