TUCK BOX: The ROME: Augustus Tuck Box features a cityscape of Ancient Roman temples and buildings on each side and a statue of Augustus on the front and a statue of Julius Caesar on the back. Gold Foil is utilized throughout, including as strategic accents within the two statues. The main temple is inscribed with the phrase “LIVIA NOSTRI CONIUGI MEMOR VIVE AC VALE”, which is Latin for “Goodbye, Livia; remember our marriage”. Augustus said this to his wife, Livia (Queen of Hearts), on his deathbed. Also included on the main temple are banners with a laurel wreath and the Roman SPQR symbol.
TUCK FEATURES: Matte Premium Paper Stock - EXTERIOR - 4CP + GOLD FOIL + Embossing (Stretch Goal) - INTERIOR - 4CP (Map and Court characters’ full names).
PAINTED STATUE SLEEVE: A KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE item, the Painted Statue Sleeve, will be Limited to 1,000. Contrary to how they look now, Ancient Roman statues were originally painted with rich and livid colors! A couple thousand years later, we are left with a white marble surface. To honor this, I created my own versions of painted Augustus and Julius Caesar statues. The Painted Statue Sleeve includes an extremely detailed DIECUT, features the painted Augustus and Caesar statues, and contains many Gold Foil elements.
The Sleeve will be printed on the same Matte Premium Paper Stock as the Tuck Box, and will overlay perfectly with the Tuck Box’s white marble versions of the Augustus and Julius Caesar statues. The Painted Statue Sleeve and it’s ROME: Augustus Deck combine to makeup the ROME: Augustus SLEEVE Deck (Limited to 1,000 and ONLY available within the Limited Pledge Tiers).
BACK CARD: The Back Card for the ROME: Augustus Deck is truly one of the most unique Back Cards in the world of Playing Cards! Featured on each half are the Ancient Roman cityscape and a closeup of the Augustus statue. The center banner is at the inverse angle of the Face Cards' banners. This, and the feature of making all banner edges the same Black CMYK color value (30C, 30M, 30Y, 100K), allows for seamless designs on the edge of a full Deck. These features remove any chance of having marked Cards from the edges.
COURT CARDS: The Court Cards for the ROME: Augustus Deck depict twelve of the most influential men and women from the end of the Roman Republic.
NUMBER CARDS: The Numbers Cards for the ROME: Augustus Deck are designed to look similar to an Ancient Roman Shield in the center, and opposing soldiers positioned on each side (the large PIPS). Additional features for the Number Cards are listed in the "ANATOMY OF THE FACE CARDS" section seen above.
ACES: The Aces each contain a large Spade, Diamond, Heart or Club PIP in the center and are wrapped by a Laurel Wreath. They also feature a different "engraving" to go with each. LEG XIII refers to Julius Caesar's 13th Twin Legion. It was one of his key legions in the Gaul and Civil Wars, and it was the Legion with which he famously crossed the Rubicon in 49 BC. LEG III refers to Mark Antony's Cyrenean Third Legion. They fought for Antony and Cleopatra at the Battle of Actium - which is the battle where Augustus was victorious and became the first Emperor of Rome!
JOKERS: The Jokers are inspired from two of my favorite statues from the Ancient Roman era. They depict Augustus and Julius Caesar.
The ROME: Augustus Deck will be printed by Legends Playing Card Co., with their TAIWAN PRINTER (and with their Classic Finish). The Classic Finish is a softer and slicker paper. It’s more comparable to a vintage Bicycle Deck. This will be my fifth time printing with Legends Playing Cards. They do an amazing job!!
Augustus campaign will be fulfilled from Texas, by Gamblers Warehouse. They do an excellent job, and have worked with many Kickstarter Playing Card projects.This will be my seventh time working with Gamblers Warehouse for fulfillment
