    R3
    Rolling Writer
    rollerball pen, manufactured in Japan c.1990. The attractive Rolling Writer is crafted from brushed finish aluminum with chrome-plated steel clip and uses their revolutionary cushioned tip rollerball cartridge.
    So, please see my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this superlative Pentel R3 should join your collection.
    This Pentel R3 is in clean, outstanding condition. It measures 5 7/16” long capped by 6⅛” cap posted by ⅜” at center thickest. There are no dings or scratches to the metal, just some very faint usage marks from the years. Plus, the clip rests tight on the cap with no gap and the halves seat firmly, securely. Overall, this Rolling Writer is exceptionally well-preserved.
    Rolling Writer ink cartridges comprise the grip, actually, the entire lower half of the barrel. The installed cartridge is pretty much empty, but I’m including the sealed-package Pentel MG8 refill in black for the new owner’s convenience, as pictured.
    Lastly, if you’ve never used a Rolling Writer, you’re in for a real treat. The pen itself has good balance and adequate mass, but it’s that cushion tip rollerball cartridge that makes the experience with its smooth and effortless flow.  You’ll love the way the Pentel R3 writes.
