    The

    was first introduced in July 1949 under the
    Tokyo Tsushin
    Kogyo
    company name, aka
    Totsuko
    for short.  This first tape was paper-based and had the
    KA
    designation.
    This Price List details the
    KW
    and
    PW
    versions of Soni-Tape.  It is dated September 1953, based on the known dates of the Tapecorder models that it references below.
    The
    KW Soni-Tape
    is the paper-based formulation that originated in 1949.
    The
    PW Soni-Tape
    is the new acetate-based formulation that is introduced in this Price List.  Both are available on 3", 5", 7", and 10" RTMA reels, and 11" NARTB reels.
