Description

This is a group of three original WWII photos of a group of US soldiers looking down at a Jap ship that was sunk off the coast of Guam--two fo the photos have writing on the back--I tried to make that show up but something it eluded my camera--so this is what was / is said:
#1: Verso of the photo of the GI's looking down at the sinking Jap ship: Written on  bacK: "The old tub attracted considerable attention. That's the way we like toi see the Jap Navy, on the bottom of the ocean."
#2: Writing on back: "As you can see, this is a partially submerged ship. A Japanese craft of course and on the coast of Guam--sorry  no more detail."
#3 Nothing writtenon the verso.
Photos are  original; 4x5 black and whites.
Any Questions--don't hesitate to ask...Thanks...ifyouare into this period--these must be rare indeed...
