    AGE OF TECHNOLOGY AUCTION
Welcome to my auction dedicated to the history of technology. This summer I will be listing some interesting and unique objects from the industrial past. I believe that each object has a history and it is only a matter of time to discover it. Every object is being sold as is. I do not test, restore or repair any objects. I simply enjoy them as they are. Please, take a look at my other listings. There are quite a bit exciting discoveries this year!
"ANTIQUE 1700s UNIQUE UNKNOWN MYSTERY HAND FORGED TOOL! TURNING LATHE JIG?"
Up for sale is the most unusual mystery tool available for sale on the Internet. It came from the collection of an avid tool collector who passed away. For over 70 years it has been in the family and nobody knew its purpose. Nobody knows its purpose. I believe specialists in the Science Museum in the United Kingdom have some interesting guesses. They have concluded that this tool has been crafted somewhere between 1700-the 1740s. It might be a jig or an attachment to the 18th-century lathe for the purpose of producing the turned spindles either for furniture or clocks. Generally, anything from the 1700s would need ornate spindles. I can also think of hourglasses with ornate spindles. If you have any ideas, please let me know. I would love to solve this mystery. The tool is in incredible condition for its age. It has some knobs that are made of wood and I noticed that one knob is made of what I believe is lead. Maybe all knobs originally were made of lead and the turned wood knobs were added later. It seems like the tool is still in operational order but because I do not know how to test it, I am selling it as is. I see scratches, signs of wear, but I do not see any breakages or cracks. The tool is so puzzling, that I just do not know how to describe it. I believe the key part is those "L" shaped brackets. Something is supposed to be inserted inside of them and if we can figure what they hold, that might be the hint for discovering the purpose of this tool. The middle bracket extends the most to about 5". There is a big lever that I think is a stopper that holds brackets into position. There is also another ornate stopper on the side of the tool. I think every part of this one-of-a-kind tool is hand-forged. Even the purpose of this tool still remains a mystery, it will be a superb addition to any collection or a museum of early tools! Get it first, and then solve the puzzle.
I can send it anywhere in the world, but the shipping of is for Canadian and USA customers only. Please ask me first for the rate if you live in a different country.
