WOW! ANTIQUE UNUSUAL MARINE SHIP ELECTRIC MOTOR CLOCK! PATENT MODEL, PROTOTYPE?
"
Up for sale is an interesting and quite unusual brass clock that I believe was crafted in the early 1900s. It features an early electric motor and it appears to me that the entire clock is a handmade one-of-a-kind example. I've looked carefully at all of the parts of this clock and I think it might be a prototype or even a patent model. Notice that the dial is either an early Gelatin silver photograph or even a drawing. The maker also crafted the case and connected the parts of the mechanism inside the clock. So, this is not mass-produced but rather a unique clock. Notice the letter "A" stamped on the brass rim. It could be either the very first model, or a first prototype designed for the demonstration of the invention to the manufacturer. I see that the electric wires were attached to it at some point in life. This clock might be still in working condition but because I cannot test it, I am selling it as is. It might be a great restoration project or it might be a perfectly working clock. It is about 7 1/2" in diameter and about 3 3/4" thick. The total weight is about 4 lbs. A great example of any collection or museum! I can send it anywhere in the world, but the shipping of is for Canadian and USA customers only. Please ask me first for the rate if you live in a different country
