    Description

Wright Brothers Dayton Hometown Centennial Celebration Ornament 2009. Appears unused. Beautiful and delicate engraved souvenir ornament marking the 100 year anniversary since the original welcome home parade Dayton organized to celebrate the Wright Brothers achievements. This is also fashioned after the Medal of Congress the brothers received on March 4, 1909.
Quote from wrightstories.com:  "This year’s centennial celebration was held on June 2009 at the Heritage Historical Park and nearby Wright-Dunbar Village, located where the Wrights’ lived and worked. Instead of a big parade there were children’s activities, a flyover by a Wright Flyer "B" replica, and talks by parkrangers." Tne ornament is made from goldtone metal and comes in a presentation box, perfect for gift giving.
    Beautiful memento of this event. Ornament measures 3 1/8 x 2 1/2 x 1/8 inches. Box measures 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 x 3/4 inches.
